There seems to be no end to the internet criticism of the UK approach, mainly on the basis that it appears to be different to what other countries are doing. There is no evidence yet that the UK plan is incorrect or that other countries will ultimately be more successful. The UK had said all along that the plan will proceed on a phased basis but when new measures are announced it seems to be reinterpreted as an admission that 'we got it wrong'. Also the UK may be at a different stage than those other countries hence the measures taken would reflect that. Might be worth checking out the CV's of Professor Chris Whitty and Sir Patrick Vallance seeing as the government is relying on their advice.
