This is my self isolating refuge... ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/03/19/A-Place-to-Self-Isolate.jpg) Twice a day, walk up the hill, walk down the cutting and either put out, or bring in, the horse. You can see him on the right, waiting for me. I find the view over the Avon Valley calming and wonderful. Most days I walk 6 to 7km. This weekend is the start of the spring gardening push, preparing the pots for the greenhouse seeds to go in the propagator and getting the outside beds ready. I started that in November, but the rain and Caroline's ill health rather delayed me.

Here in Colorado we are on a lockdown with all events and venues closed including ski resorts, schools, bars, restaurants, cafes, etc. Everyone is keeping social distancing although still stockpiling toilet paper, they must have over a years supply by now. The most worrying thing is that our local gun stores have sold out of guns and ammo!!! This white stuff is coming down too with another 12 inches expected through tomorrow it helps in keeping the buggers indoors. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/03/19/IMG_1844.md.jpg)

Still going to work and its really rather busy considering everything. Which has completely taken me by surprise. Only one member of staff self isolating due to one of his children having a temperature....so far. Eldest employee is 72 and refuses to self isolate. Still we have been trying to get rid of him for years, this might save on the redundancy That last bit is a joke before I get

In complete lock down for 14 days here, courtesy of coming from Spain last Friday.
Grateful for friends and full freezers.
Although somewhat weirdly we have the builders in, so the builders have their part of the house whilst we have ours. We spend quite a lot of time yelling at each other The sparks subbie has now refused to work here, single, mid-20s (To all intents and purposes we are living in one semi-detached house, whilst the builders are in the other semi)

I'd say we're more social distancing than self isolating. Going to the shops only when we really have to but avoiding people as much as possible. We're 63 and 60 but I have (mild) COPD and SWMBO has asthma so it seems sensible. Have told the kids and grandkids that we'll miss them but we'd prefer them not to come on Mothers Day this year, that might seem a bit over the top but we have 6 sons and 13 grandkids between us, and that's quite a crowd!
Ironically my eldest son called at the end of last week to make sure we were ok and asked if we needed any shopping, on Tuesday he was sent home from work with a bad cough so I had to do some shopping for them. We don't think it's COVID19 as he's had no fever but better safe than sorry.
I did make an exception as I went to pick up my Morgan from BHM this afternoon after having a replacement radiator fitted, my rationale was that the Mog may be the only thing that keeps me sane if we can't socialize, at least we can go for a drive and wave at the people who smile at the car.

Are you certain he is not social distancing you Peter? Or were you unable to find carrots in the supermarket at this point?
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

I just started sneezing and coughing like crazy. Nothing to do with Coronavirus though, it has more to do with the pepper and spice mix that I just ground up with the mortar and pestle and then put in 3 litres of boiling water. The bloody stuff is damn near toxic. When it cools down I will pop in a great lump of beef that in 4 days time will become a spicy corned beef. When I do this I tend to use a liberal hand with whatever we have available but I can't help wondering if I didn't exaggerate this time. Corned beef is unknown in Italy so if I want some I have to make it myself. Commercial corned beef probably uses little or no spices but if you prepare it yourself it is easy enough and much nicer. Yesterday I made some Anzac Biscuits (never cookies). ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/03/19/20200319_191130.jpg) My next trick will be to make some fudge.

I am a regular visitor to Cambodia and was due to fly back on 5th April and up to a week ago my wife thought it best I stay, however due to the situation in both countries we now are experiencing including boarder and flight restrictions l have managed to get a flight on Wednesday.
As I'm considered in the vulnerable category I will be staying at home as will my wife. My streets neighbourhood watch has mobilised and there are a number of younger residents offering shopping services. The village butcher, baker, green grocer and hardware/garden suppliers are all offering a delivery service to older people and I have two cases of wine and 32 pints of farmhouse cider on the way.
I am fortunate that I am three minutes walk away from open fields and woods thats if l want to drag myself away from my garden and greenhouse. The only downside apart from being unable to visit my local will be that I have no excuse not to tidy my shed.
