I got a nearly new hood cover at the last Richard Thorne breakfast club that’s a perfect match for my 2008 +4.
I’ve never had one before and in fitting it I notice it has 2 black straps with poppers on, adjacent to the padded section that wraps under the hood from the inside.
I can’t see that my car has anywhere to fix these to?
Can anyone help advise or maybe send a photo of where they fit?

- not sure if it helps Hiwex but when I had a hood cover made up for my Aero 8 by Allon Whites, they fitted a similar strap (only 1 fitted.)

It is designed to secure the potentially 'flappy' centre bit of the cover when 'pressing on' !

They fitted the 'male' part of the press stud to the rear bulkhead with a S/S screw.

I'm guessing that , as you bought your cover, which was destined for another car , the other part of the press stud is (obviously) not fitted.

Relatively easy to buy a suitable press stud kit and ,again easy enough to see where it needs to be placed.

A note of caution - make sure you know what is behind the bulkhead before running riot with the drill bit.....

I had a cover made by Allon White and the straps fix to studs in the upright read panel (carpented panel). So the flap is secured. In my case I had a long flap made so it covers the luggags. I do also have a factory hood cover but that is more of an envelope and has no 'flap'

For read panel, it should have said. Rear Panel. My predictive keyboard is disfunctional, and insists on correcting my corrections

On my Plus 4 the studs in the rear panel are a bit tricky to see as they are high up, so hidden from view by the hood.

Mike, no problem if you want to come over, we can keep a distance, let me know ! I will try and send a photo to you, I will see if I can capture the stud positions on film, they are elusive. They are high up as the purpose is to keep the flap against the rear panel and out of the way when there is no luggage, once there is luggage behind the seat the straps are not used and the flap goes over the luggage, then you need to make sure that the tail of the flap is down and out of the way of any slip stream. All assuming your cover has a similar flap to mine.

I will email a picture to you, Position of the stud horizontally is approx 1 inch inside of the inner edge of the rectangular hole through which the seat belt exits into the depths of the tail end of the car. vertically it is in line with the base of the rectangular hole One stud each side. The width of the flap of material is such that it fits between, and clear of, the seat belts
