The plan was to fit some wider wheels and bigger tyres to my Mog. I always thought she looked seriously 'under tyred' and there was a huge gap between the wing and the tyre. So - wheels sourced, shotblasted and painted. New tyres fitted (went for Avon ZV7) and then it should have been a simple swap job. However, on the last wheel, a stud broke. This then turned into a bit of a nightmare = hub wouldn't come off, and I bust the nut and axle thread, so down to Billy Bellinger at JB Sports Engineering for a second hand half shaft, Removed the complete axle and after a weekend under a 10t Hydrauic puller, it still wouldn't budge. Ordered a couple of new studs from Melvyn, but they sent a pair that were only threaded on one end. Managed to get a couple from a kind gent on Morgan History on FB. Back down to JB, and they put Bertha on it, their ex Traction Engine hub puller. She was almost beaten, but 10 mins of oxy finally got her off. Previous mechanic (?) had fitted the woodruff key incorrectly. Then we discovered that the hub was knackered. Several of the studs had been replaced, VERY badly and they were all at odd angles. At least it eplained why the stud broke They reckoned they could repair it, but it would be better to get a second hand one. Managed to get one from Brian and Andrew Miller (thanks guys!) and they sent it down to JB. He was happy that everything matched up OK, so down again Friday and picked everything up. Sprayed everything up, spend 20 mins lapping in the hub to the shaft and then fitted everything back together, Had to make a couple of gaskets and taught myself how to make up brake lines (it sheared when I unscrewed it from the cylinder).. Brakes bled, and finally got my wheels on... Frigging nightmare from start to finish. However, learnt a lot about axles and brakes, and very happy with the result. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/03/21/8RFSgOe_56byW70jtlVwaWWDZO7TfX18x87_b7T8sXphgXXvn9yDlyWfeMWmDC87PrNvzyWG0E1gutoq_F13c3QTArj9ZFUdiwO4Nt_P0QLuJQEGQ0MagLnV-pq8JGoZ7RzQk-WWtjdUR8d6md_1_wE15pWFHgRA_plk5jbxb7uGQ6LHMP8YVjYeR6F1dpy9j0SiEpYd.md.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/03/21/enM26TGnc4FBpguy8aVqvAa90WDed8AjRHmJiSoB7MWJrMtPEgYDGBLNsD29L5Ni5nS9Wk3l2fYsm_Hl3K4Qz0033t12H2wZoGq-UHAbFGNbef4NfQkg5tJy7yNGeI1SUe3T0-iYojAEUY6AoUJMg1ooqAmtjxPmHpN-SFeTTZgOZHZuUTeXS9ggvmtCe72dh5uCpjGj.md.jpg)

Well done that man. Looking good. Well worth the effort - and you have the advantage of that stud failing on the drive and not letting go along with its friends while you were making progress. The end result could have been altogether different.

Looks beautiful! Very nice. I myself went for a smaller option and had 165SR15 Michelin XZX installed!
