That's nice. Now I know where to get one when it's eventually needed smile

Here’s one from the 2006 Britcar 24 hr race
This was one of the 2 Aero 8 GTNs built as competition cars , and the inspiration for the 11 road cars

We engineered it when we raced in the British GT cup in 2003 and then radically rebuilt it and redesigned it as an endurance racer in 2006

That’s a much younger me checking the oil level in the dry sump tank during the pitstop....

This one of the stainless steel tanks I make as a replacement for the most recent trads. There’s a few variations on a theme, but all use Ford in-tank fuel pumps, with the fuel pump outer cover secured by a large threaded collar

[Linked Image]

The factory aluminium tanks, use a couple of bent pieces of aluminium to locate the fuel pump assembly onto the base of the tank
I thought that was a bit crude, so I reverse engineered the bayonet fitting used in the Ford tanks. We 3D print these and the pump latches in exactly as Henry intended....

[Linked Image]

A close up of the bayonet fitting, bolted to captive brackets welded to the base of the tank

And one showing the pump fitted

Very nice, Simon. It seems a shame that no-one will get to see it! What material is used for the bayonet fitting?
