During a long run round the Cotswolds my Sigma 4/4 began to drop power momentarily, cured by stabbing harder on the throttle. Mostly when cruising at a stable 2500 revs. Not when accelerating. This didn’t happen on a long run on Friday, so it’s a new issue. Just been serviced so presumably it’s been plugged in to look for fault codes. Seems a bit like fuel starvation but same fuel as Friday.
What would be a sensible fault finding sequence please? I don’t have a code reader but I expect Amazon could sort that for tomorrow.
All suggestions gratefully received
Stuart

Get a code reader first. /it could be a sticky injector , the carbon filter solenoid opening or something else

Will do thanks. I think there have been recommendations for a good code reader on here, I’ll do a quick search

Strangely, all Amazon stuff is now “delivery by 19 April”. I’m used to ‘next day’. Is something going on that I don’t know about?

Has Craig got one you can have a loan of until Amazon recovers from the "bog roll syndrome" ? He likes his bits and bobs.

Heinz had a similar issue with his 4/4 - turned out to be the throttle pedal playing up - of course it could one of many things to cause such an issue. I expect he'll be along and may well be able share his experience.

That's you sorted then with no need of a visit from the Amazonian lady grin2

All good advice above.
Have you looked on eBay for a code reader?
IIRC this issue has been covered before but I cannot remember who or when.
Could the previous case have been the potentiometer on the throttle pedal?

Sorry for the vague suggestions but memory isn’t what it was.

Unfortunately I don’t have a code reader Rich, but my mechanic mate has offered to plug his reader into SFG’s 4/4 tomorrow.
