Like John, we are "Lucky Bastards", although my SIPP is in pain.

We are self isolating, but not 100%.
We keep at least 2m away from all people.
We ask anyone who visits (cleaner, hairdresser this week) if they have taken their temperature. If it is normal we let them in.
I wear disposable gloves when going to Tesco.
I disinfect the front door furniture every morning.
We go to the stables as normal.
I go out in Tarka as normal.

We have enough toilet paper, cat food, horse food and other critical stuff.

I had an e-mail from a friend in the USA.
He said "man up and die like a gentleman"!
Quite.

How do you stay two metres away from a hairdresser?
Is his/her name Twizzle? (showing my age there)

With Diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma and on anti- tnf immuno- suppressant drugs- I feel I’m being targeted by this bloody virus!!

So I’ve decided to see if good wine, food and a nurse as a wife- will sustain “ life as we know it , Jim “

And seeing just how fast a Speedster will go.....!!!

PS- my wife has just given me a haircut to avoid me going to the barbers.
She will need more practice.
Used to have hair.

As I’m also on immunosuppressants and under medical advice I’m under 3-months quarantine and for different reasons my Head Office is also under the same sentence! We started yesterday after the final meat shopping from the farm shop and then various other local shops which were better stocked than some of the supermarkets.

We will continue to go for a walk each day and will be taking the cars out for drives until the tanks are empty, but it looks like we’ll catch up on reading the backlog of books and catching up on films missed in the past.

Any other ideas gratefully received, but this looks really interesting - www.shorturl.at/dfuY0

Very sensible of you Brian. Thanks for the link, I'll have a good look at that.

We're not in self-isolation, but in compulsory lockdown here in France. The rules about going out are quite strict, but I guess there's not much point in doing it in a half arsed way.

I've been busy trying to cut my fixed costs where I can for my company, and personally. My main preoccupation is paying my staff.

I've also been busy in the garden and getting on with bits and bobs around the house that I've been meaning to do; the only snag is I can only do stuff that I have all the gear for, as there's no popping to the garden centre or the builder's merchant. Also been doing some reading - looking forwards to getting stuck into Hilary Mantel's latest.

In complete lock down for 14 days here, courtesy of coming from Spain last Friday.

Grateful for friends and full freezers.

Although somewhat weirdly we have the builders in, so the builders have their part of the house whilst we have ours. We spend quite a lot of time yelling at each other

My eldest has a cough but he’s always got a cough with numerous chest infections and asthma over the years

Just tested his temp and it’s normal at 36 so carrying on as normal

Also went to see my parents tonight in The Lakes as I have done every week for the last few months

Dad’s 87 and is the carer (along with private carers that come in 4 times a day) to my mum who’s bed-bound at 84

Must admit is quite hard

Couldn’t kiss mum as I normally do and felt awkward speaking loudly to make my dad hear what I was saying thinking that I might be spreading germs the louder I spoke

It’s a worry but I’m absolutely with our UK government in difficult times and won’t be blaming anyone (apart from the Chinese whether man made or accidental due to obscene animal welfare) if problems occur.

Stewart. That really sounds as though he is in the at risk category. Even if you are convinced he does not have COVID-19 perhaps he should consider organising himself for isolation.

Thanks Peter but reading up on the latest scientific research, being only 20 with mild asthma, he is pretty immune to developing complications

The latest research indicates that it’s about how much you have been exposed to the other 4 or 5 corona viruses which can take 60 or 70 years. The body’s immune system is fooled into a ‘thinking’ it’s one of the others and doesn’t produce the correct antibodies to tackle this virus head on, leaving Covid 19 to be ‘sticky’

Younger people who haven’t been exposed to other coronas, have an immune system that isn’t fooled and develops the correct immune response, beating it off, mostly without any symptoms but because of the lack of any high temperature and because it isn’t a new cough, I will risk that Oscar hasn’t got Covid 19 .., yet
