No, there's no vaccine, unfortunately.

It based on my own personal experience when I used to have flu.

I always head to the sauna and sweat it out, normally I wouldn't last much more than 10 mins, but when I had the flu, the temperature inside the sauna suddenly seems perfect, and I could stay much longer!! I usually felt much better the day after, not sure whether it has anything to do with the sauna though?

I understand the virus are temperature sensitive, I am just wondering if I had the coronavirus and I head to the sauna with inside temperatures of 90C+ and I obviously breaths in really hot air, do you think it would help kill the virus in my lungs?

Any medical expert on here?

I have WhatsApp the same question to BBC and Skynews.

I think there's something in what you say. When hit with a virus the body goes into defence and generates a high temperature which viruses can't survive. Our modern way of dealing with this is to take drugs to lower the temperature thereby fighting the body's attempts to cure itself. Why do we do this? I've asked all sorts of people over the years and only had answers that relate to pain relief. Are we so fixated on avoiding discomfort and pain that we are happy to fight our own defence systems?

If I contract the virus I'd be happy to be put in a sauna with a load of other sufferers as an experiment.

I worked with some Russian guys a few years ago who said that the only answer to flu was to drink vodka in a sauna.

The high body temperature is a result of the immune reaction: it is nowhere high enough to kill any virus. Saunas are an excellent way to spread any disease.
Of course if you have the sauna set at something like 90 degrees Celsius and stay in it till your entire body has reached that temperature for say 20 minutes or so then whoever has to recover your body probably won't be at much risk from any viruses or bacteria still in what's left of you.

Be careful with the Sauna!

While the hot temperatures support the immune system they can be quite dangerous for the heart when your immune system is under stress. A good friend of mine got heart inflammation and ended up in intensive care for several weeks as he did not treat his flu in a proper way.
I have a sauna at home. Great to fight a cold but not good when the flu has weakened the immune system

yes, it is - but that takes some time and in the meantime the pandemic kills lots of people

first: you have to see if you can develop an antigen like the ones on the virus

second: you need to test this to see if the body actually develops antibodies to this antigen AND those antibodies prevent the virus from replicating

third: you have to make sure that the vaccine does not trigger an immune response to is detrimental to the host

Finally: develop a way to make large amounts of the vaccine

One other thing.... we do not know if this virus is stable (like polio) or drifts (like the flu). If it drifts, then this years vaccine may not work next year.
