I still have to drive to work for the foreseeable future so may use the Mog occasionally to keep it mobile

A medical expert on TV last night agreed with that especially if the journey took you to some remote exercise spot. Trouble is the most remote parts of our extensive local forest have suddenly become popular as we noted today on dog walk. It also brings you closer to needing a fuel station visit.

Dartmoor is now effectively closed to all visitors with all facilities closed and a light police presence.

The second home owners have been given their marching orders to return to their primary residences.

Taking the Mog out, even for an essential journey, would be sure to get me stopped here. There is also an obligation to go by the shortest possible route to any such essential destination. Fines of up to €4,000 compounded by a possible criminal conviction if a false declaration is made, plus having the vehicle confiscated. Probably not worth it.

Service stations and nearly all workshops are closed. Self service only at the pumps.

As I understand it there are no restrictions as of now to go out for a solo drive as long as you stay away from people and fuel up carefully e.g. pay at the pump with gloves for your own protection.

I have registered as a volunteer and will alternate between Morgan and my VW Caddy to carry out my duties...the Morgan is certainly better to be used at least once a week.

Police in Devon are stopping cars to check whether the trip is necessary!
They are also checking bus and train passengers.

I've registered as a NHS volunteer and I'm also a member of the Wiltshire Link Scheme, complete with ID card and car sticker.
It will mean that I can get out and about.
I had to have an Extended DBS Report done...it seems that according to the service I've led a blameless life.
I'm not sure if I should be ashamed or proud!

Had to help swmbo Snr who is in isolation at 90. It felt really odd to be driving and very quiet. Goods delivered I went home on a direct route but here in Felixstowe there was no police presence I saw & very few people moving about.
