Hey Dirk, did you work at the Agfa site beside the Xeikon facility? I helped Flint Group acquire Xeikon. It is a nice part of the world there.

Hi John, I used to work all over the different plants but I remember the start of Xeikon vividly. In the beginning they were called "Ellith" (short for electronic lithography). Was it Mortsel/Edegem or Heultje that nice part of the world? The plant in Heultje is just about a few hundred metres from where my grandparents used to live.

I have 2 sets for different purposes. I have the ratchet type for quick use under the crosshead etc but I also have a very heavy duty set which I modified to give a flat top pad onto which I put an ice hockey puck. I use the heavy flat top set for when I'm going to be raising the whole car higher to work comfortably underneath. The reason I went for the heavy duty 3 tonne per stand is that they also have a larger, more stable base for extra safety. They will extend higher than this if needed but I've never needed to go higher and the lower setting is more stable. Total 12 tonne is probably a bit over the top but what price safety? ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2020/03/26/IMG_1645.md.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2020/03/26/IMG_1647.md.jpg)

I also went to the printing machine site / head office, but Hueltje was the focus as my role was assessing manufacturing of the dry toner.

Thanks for all the advice.
I've decided to go for both.
A decent compressor and a set of ratchet axle stands (just in case).
Cheers

How old are your tyres, wigmog? I'm not an expert but I would think it is better for the Morgan to stand on its tyres for a longer period of time and not up on stands. I wouldn't risk the car bending even with the stands in the right position. Then instead of spending the money on stands I would rather buy new tyres when the world is better again.

That's a decent suggestion Heinz.
Five years old and 20,000 miles.

Heinz I would bow to the consensus on here but I really don't think the car will bend if the stands are located sensibly.

I think we could worry a little less and just about any axle stand will be fine, I also prefer the ratchet type because that’s what I have. I also bought a Michelin 12volt tyre inflator and find it invaluable for wire wheels that lose pressure, it’s small, effective and so far reliable.
