Hiya, we've got a '66 +4 that's been sitting around for about 30 years. I'm going to be registering it in the next while, and I'm trying to find any info I can to help that along.

Where on the car would any identifying numbers or panels be located? An old 'working on your morgan' book my dad has had a "ID # 6221" written on the inside cover, would that be anything to go off of, and where would that number have been located on the car?

Thanks!

The serial # is located on the front chassis rail under the front seat. It is stamped into the top surface. The engine # is on the left side of the engine and should end in M if it's the original block. Take a look here:

Is there any 'easy' way of getting at the chassis number, or will I likely have to pull out the seat and floor panelling to view it?

Ok, lemme rephrase that... pulled up the seats and other material around them, not seeing anything on the frame bar at all. Does anyone have any photo examples of what I should be looking for?

It's a four digit number stamped into the top surface in 1/4" numerals. It can be difficult to see when painted-over.
