Because my mother is high maintenance, I'm still having to go out there. Shes been in hospital four of the last six weeks, and has had four 999 ambulance call outs, so I'm meeting paramedics and nursing staff constantly. The paramedics are fantastic, but also with gallows humour about the virus.
Yesterday she was sent to a 24/7 rehab unit, so today we are at her house sorting out some clothes and toiletries to take over.
I would rather be at home, but unfortunately this is how it is.

People are still driving here to park up on the prom to go for a walk. The police have been here off and on the past couple of days moving people on. I blame the government...they haven’t clearly spelt out this use of a car....it’s open to interpretation. Not in Gloucestershire it isn't. The Police have clearly stated that using a car in order to travel somewhere for exercise is not permitted. It's to stop people congregating at popular beauty spots like Arnside prom. I'm sure there are a lot of people out there using a kind of selective ignorance and/or minimalisation to defend their rule-breaking.

A lot of people out walking in the lanes around our village, most of them obviously have never walked in the countryside before and have no idea how to walk safely. A couple walking down the centre of the road, both with headphones on, oblivious to everything. I had to use the horn to alert them that there was a car behind. Most of the traffic is delivery vehicles, and they are under time pressure and expect people to understand how to use the road, it is only a matter of time before an accident.

I agree there’s usually load over here but very few at the mo. This must last quite a while even after the lock down. I can’t see countries rushing to open airports once they have coved under control.

I blame the government...they haven’t clearly spelt out this use of a car....it’s open to interpretation. Must be a bureaucratic thing. We had the same lack of clarity here but they gradually redefined it to the point where you can not leave the house without a valid reason. Even so there are still too many people who think the rules don't apply to them

Back home after our mission of mercy. Quiet on the roads but still plenty of cars about.
Local Lidl car park is rammed full and no sign of a queue at the door. A place to avoid.

Taken from the current BBC headline page.
“There is nothing in the restrictions which stops people driving further afield - say, to a beauty spot - in order to take exercise. However, several police forces have tried to discourage this, fearing that it could encourage overcrowding - and with it, the spread of the virus. The RAC has also advised drivers only to make essential journeys.”

String's gone back home now, but we've had some cracking walks across the fields behind the village this week. Loads of comments and the odd chat, lots of families giving kids the vital fresh air and exercise. It's a lovely spirit out there, and the lovely spring weather makes it.
Sadly, he's gone back to his real dad now for the duration, so I'm back out in the garden again..
