Aaah now I get it!
Was being overly sensitive for which I apologise....it all just sounded a bit odd to me and I couldn't work out what I'd done wrong.
I've owned at least 6 TVRs and fully understand the idiosyncrasies of cars of this genre, but to be fair, if persisted with and fully sorted, they can be great cars to own and drive as long as you go into ownership fully aware of the potential pitfalls......it always helps if you buy from someone who operates to similar levels of perfectionism though......some people's definition of cosseting is different from my own!

The Aero 8 is an iconic car and it least it has an engine, which unlike most latter day TVRs, is less likely to go bang at some stage.....and I'd far rather drive something rare and characterful.

Thanks for the responses!

Graham - there are always hassle free cars out there - like any low volume handbuilt car (or anything) buy one from an owner who cares or a reputable dealer and you can be pretty sure you're getting a good car that will be well sorted.

Any car thats been used by an owner is liable to be well sorted out. Personally I'd avoid a 'super low' mileage car, as it will probably still have some initial tweaking to do. Taking into account the law of averages it makes sense I think...

Aww cheers G, that's very decent of you, and of course accepted!

wink

PS good luck Chad, hope you find one soon. Can't speak from experience but I guess coming from TVR's you'll understand and fall in love smile

Just the many facets of TM's leading legal luminary, I'm sure he'll be back soon with his trenchant views on any Mog with more than 4-cylinders (or less too!)...

Glad that's sorted. Re the Aero, it's not the Beemer bits which, so far as I understand it, are likely to go bang but rather the interface area where Morgan have to adapt/adopt the engine to the other systems using their own kit and, lacking a massive R&D budget, have to rely on the 'customer development' idea to do so.

For this reason you will hear tales of electrics failng because MMC 's liberal use of silicone hasn't sealed a component and long European driving trips being accompanied by calls to the factory about whether the use of a 20amp fuse might cure a major failure of the lighting system
As I said, it's a 'choice' thing and loads of guys (and ladies) on this site are more than prepared to put up with the niggles to enjoy a really characterful car.
Personally? I'm not but that probably says more about me than Aeros!
regards,
G
