I still have the original fuel pump in my 2015 Brooklands, in fact apart from a rear mudguard, cam belt kit and oil tank seal it’s all original. I was wondering if anyone out there had not experienced problems with the original spec fuel pump, just trying to get a consensus before I do some preventative maintenance. I should confess my M3W has only done 1300 miles from new and never goes in the wet.

My original fuel pump is still in mine, with about 39000 miles on it.

For the sake of future reliability I would do the following in your shoes:
* Definitely consider replacing the fuel pump. Full instructions are available on the MTWC website.
* If you have the original Banner battery then replace it with an alternate brand. Check out the Alternative Parts List (also available via the MTWC website) for some suggested batteries.
Remember that both the fuel pump and the battery both work fine until they don't! You don't want to be stranded somewhere when that happens!
* If you're still running the original 2-bobbin exhaust system, start saving up to replace it. You are on borrowed time at 1300 miles!
* Put a puncture prevention fluid (such as OKO) in your rear tyre. Once again, if you do get a puncture you will likely be some distance from home and it will be a recovery job.

Bluebelle is from 2013, 21.000 km, still the first fuel pump. I don't fill up with fuel with methanol. Last year I changed the battery.

I still have the original fuel pump, but it is not in the car. I swopped it out after 25,000 miles for a Walbro one purely as a precaution.

OK, where is the “oil tank seal”?
I am at 1500 miles and the fuel pump works well, just a check engine light intermittently since an overfill.

The seal referred to is the one in the oil tank cap.

How many times have you used the pump module you carried as a spare Roger???? Not on your own car I know  . I also have the original pump....in a box on a shelf in the garage.
