So did I, but, now on SORN. Shortest time ever (24 days) I have had a car taxed for the road. But, quite incredible times in which we live.

I would have thought that by now you would have similar gun laws to Australia, Particularly following recent tragic events.

I get updates on NZ, from my son and his wife. They live just outside Auckland, at Huia.
He is a hospital doctor, albeit at a children’s hospital, so is close to the front line. Very proud of him.

As for driving our Morgans, or indeed driving at all: here in East Devon the police are being very proactive.
There are reports that they have been stopping cars to check whether journeys are essential. They have also been checking bus passengers.
We’ve also noticed a lot of activity from the police helicopter.
I find it quite reassuring, under the current circumstances.

I realised there is little realistic chance of driving my Morgan for a while so I SORN'd it today, before I lost a month of tax. At least it was a straightforward process. It's the first time I have ever had a vehicle on SORN.

I'm afraid I have sorn'd the Mog until I can take it to KH for her service which hopefully will be very early May . KH was shut soon after the decision was made not to drive down thus avoiding possibly an 'unnecessary journey ' . Very reluctantly . sick2
No problems re taxing though if things pick up ! waiting

I too have SORN'd mine. Suspect it could be a while before we can use them again.

I SORN'd the Mog on Tuesday evening and the refund arrived today so I can't fault them on their promptness. On the downside it has come in the post as a cheque. A bit of a faff under normal circumstances but it's going to be a right pain to pay a cheque into my bank in the current situation.

I'm surprised they can't do an electronic repayment direct into an account, especially if you pay by direct debit as I do.

The HSBC App lets me pay a cheque in by taking a picture of it and uploading the picture - Max £500 one cheque, £750 in cheques in one day.

I believe Barclays has something similar but not used it.
