+1 for the Garmin Zumo - in my case a 390LM which has been great in my M3W.

The LM indicated the lifetime map version.

The lifetime maps are the best bit of the Garmin. But as said the download is slow. Though if you want very slow then try the VW in car sat nav update.

My car frequently has a Sat Nag in it.

Mine is very speed tolerant, and merely grips the sides of the seat with white knuckles.

This is what I installed and it works fine. It is my third Garmin device, 4 if you could the dog training collar. And zero trouble. An old standard car Nuuvi, a garmin marine that waterproof and floats (for sea kayaking) and I even used it for the car on a few occasions, and now the Zuumo 595LM.

Zero complaints, unless cost is a factor.

I always do what Jan Nave tells me. I find it simpler in the end.
She though points out that I shout at both her & the Sat Nav when we get lost.

Few years ago I put Joanna Lumley’s voice on my Tomtom. When getting to the destinationI was greeted by a sultry Joanna saying...
You have reached your destination, darling.
Long journeys were broken down into separate stages tohear her love

As a joke I once put Ozzie Osborne’s voice on it when swmbo was going out to work and would use satnav. innocent

Dave, you need to fit “Jesus handles” to the dash. They will save nailmarks in the leather.

Good afternoon chaps,

Just a word of caution, look very deep into the promise of "lifetime updates" as in many cases this refers to the manufacturer's estimation of the lifespan of the sat-nav.

I have seen many cases where people claim that as they look after their equipment it is as good as new but this has no bearing on the suppliers as they quote that as it is over ????? years old it is deemed to be outside of IT'S allotted "lifetime".

This applies to many manufacturers.

Why is there only one monopolies commission??
