just now i see a proven expert for viruses from the university of bonn on tv. he has conducted a comprehensive study with his team in Heinsberg, a town near the lower rhine. the majority of the cases have been conducted with his team. it was a model case because Heinsberg is the main hot spot. one of the results was that there is no transmission through touching door handles or paper receipts etc. there was always a lot of rna from viruses found there even in houses with very covid19 ill persons.. but they are dead and can no longer reproduce. only if someone sneezed on a door handle a very short time before.

the other thing he says, almost everybody who is infected complains about the loss of smell. in asia people had loss of hearing. all this comes back. interesting was that these nervous disorders occur at the end of the disease. so it is a late symptom. he pleads for us to quickly test the antibodies so that these people can go back to work and help others.

I had a strange sore throat with a metallic taste in my mouth plus slight chills , a cough and a runny nose. now I have no sense of taste or smell.
This was the mildest cold I ever had and I have no idea if it was the virus but I have never lost my sense of taste & smell before.

Just be careful, and warn any elderly parents, to be very careful about callers at the door claiming to be from the NHS, or similar, and saying they are there to take swabs or some other purpose. There are always scumbags that try to take advantage of any situation to gain entry to the houses of elderly people to thieve something or get money on some pretext.

The other nice little joke was letters that appear official telling people they have to evacuate the building.

Last week three people (2 male 1 female) called on an elderly resident across town from me, claiming to be police. Resident wisely asked to see Warrant cards which the 3 declined to show. Resident closed the door on them and phoned the police non-emergency number (101).

I was thinking about that sort of thing and I wondered how many people actually know what a genuine warrant card looks like and how easy would it be to copy something that looks realistic.

I certainly would not know for sure and I might be tempted to ask the officers to wait outside while I checked their credentials by phoning 101.

If they chose to wait, probably genuine, if they scarper...........
