Consider a slight slope with a sump so any fluids lost do not just spread out.

Yes, and some thick layers of cardboard from cut-down boxes. But the oil is easy to wipe from the floor tiles so it's no big deal.

I have dark patches over the concrete of the driveway. One larger than the rest where I didn't manage to get the oil catch can in place quickly enough...

There is an oily patch on my drive where I come to a stop in my 1930 Sunbeam to open the garage door. It does not have crankshaft oil seals only scrolls, as there is a slight slope some oil always leaks out.

I’ve always understood that proper Land Rovers leak oil and leave their calling card. I’ve had my Defender for a number for years now and hardly a drip. It worried me initially to a point that I checked and changed all the oils ie engine transmission axles etc and it’s still oil tight. It must have been a mid week build!

I am getting serious garage envy. I have a chunk of muliti layered manky concrete (thanks toprevious owner) out the front of my house to work/park on.

Am considering getting it dug out and relaid/levelled properly at some point.

There are some very good wooden garages which have the option of insulation , they are put up in half a day if you have some concrete laid , and the roofs can be coroline construction fixed on wood sheets . Very reasonable prices and an instant garage !
