Interesting video of a 1960s race prepared a Plus 4. Forgive me if this has been posted elsewhere. Just makes me grieve for the absence of being able to take my Roadster out for a blast! https://youtu.be/mFn4Lap1jb0

Yes we watched them run nicely at LMC 18, friendly Dutch guys who joined the Vinmog crowd after the racing for Quentins enjoyable get together. Still have a sticker featuring them -Morgan on a mission .

Great stuff. I love the bit about the webers clogging up as he wasn't pushing it enough.

OK there are some glaring errors here , but overall a great video about a very interesting car.
The bit about the Webers "clogging up" is nonsense. The plugs might be fouling, but there is nothing in the carbs that will "clog up"
I know a lot about this car , as I have raced against it at Zandvoort and Nurburgring in the 70s when it was a 4 seater! It was rebuilt after a Nurburgring accident into a 2 seater, and became quite successful.
Delighted it is back in Britain, and if the current owner would like to contact me I can give him a bit more of the "actual" history.

I know a bit about the car - though not as much as Andy and we had a small article about it in the VinMog 2018 Le Mans Classic programme.
It was raced at the Classic by Jochem Kentgens and Van Thiel from the Netherlands. The car was raced during the mid seventies by Dutchman Michael Lucassen. He sold the car to fellow Dutchman Peter Ecury in the early eighties. Peter raced the car with great success, winning the European historic FIA GT championship overall in 1987.
The car was then sold to the US, only to come back to Holland 30 years later in 2017.
The VinMog programme included a picture of Peter Ecury in the car at the Nurburgring in 1981, with a five year old boy proudly standing next to the car. This was Jochem - little did he realise that 37 years later he would be racing the same car at Le Mans himself!
If anyone would like to see the programme PM me and I can e-mail a PDF - though even a reduced size file is 18MB - so takes a few minutes to download.
Bets wishes
Quentin

Interested to hear of its transition from four to two seats ...I understand that's a bigger job than you might expect ....loved the video, if only for his obvious unexpected enthusiasm for the car. K

I think you are getting confused with another Plus Four that is now a regular competitor, but was converted to a 'TOK' lookalike from a rather sad four-seat Plus Four..
And I am a bit puzzled by the video commentary "there is another exhaust pipe on the other side". I have never come across a Plus Four with twin exhausts - and a quick look at the pictures from the 2018 Classic only shows one pipe. But journalists rarely let the truth get in the way of a good story!

VinMogger .... I don't know this car ...was only commenting on a statement a couple of posts above ..... I have always understood that the difference between the 2 and 4 seaters ran much deeper than the body behind the wheels and a change is quite involved ...but again, just info I have picked up off forums .....I was perplexed by the twin exhaust thing as well ...it would be do-able but I'm not sure why you would aside from cosmetics. It's always enlightening to see what glaring gaffes the press make when they approach any specialist story about which you know a bit .... you then have to think they perform just as badly about all the subjects you don't... you just don't know any better K

Quentin No I am most definitely not confused Quentin, this car really was a 4 seater when it exited MMC , and rebuilt by Macdonald Racing for Michael Lucasson as a 2 seater SS replica.
