Rich. I'm now starting to get a better understanding of the attitude of locals in our Island's beauty spots towards incomers and visitors. I am fortunate to live with the most beautiful countryside walks right from my doorstep but still be able to walk to the town centre from my house. In normal times this countryside is mostly empty save for the farmer, the odd horse rider, and lots of wildlife. However, since the onset of "the virus" people have been coming out and walking the paths and lanes from everywhere and it is obvious they don't understand the etiquette involved and what used to be known as "the Countryside Code". I can empathise with you now and look forward to discussing this over a pint when this is all over.

I'm sorry to hear you are being inundated with out of area irresponsible visitors bringing God knows what all with them, this is just total madness at this time.

We run an Air BnB and shut it down as soon as Covid-19 started - this type of thing does nothing for the image of Air BnB.

We are seeing a spike in cases a week to 10 days after the rich fled New York and California to their mountain retreats, bloody annoying.

We continually see politicians and other notables who give TV interviews, press conferences, etc. without wearing masks and without keeping distance one from the other. Other than the fact that it does not give a good example to the people they are telling to wear masks (us) it is also placing themselves at risk. Boris Johnson has now given us a good example of what can happen to a leader who does not take appropriate precautions.

If you want to imagine just how far the virus can spread in a closed room think of the last time you entered a room where someone was smoking, If you were close enough to get the smoke in you nose you were close enough to get the virus, and that can be far more than 2 metres.

Even when people are wearing masks you often see that they are wearing them incorrectly. Despite being continually told that the mask must cover mouth and nose you often see people, who obviously find wearing a mask restricts their breathing, wearing the mask under their nose. That does not protect anyone, neither them nor me.

It would be disappointing if victim shaming spread to Covid-19 patients.
