I ran through the pump replacement over the weekend and am pleased to report that all went to plan. It seems that my convoluted hoses were actually the same size, so the (very good I must say) instructions needed a little interpretation at that point, but it was soon pretty obvious quite which hose needed removed. Timely comment Phil as I'm just doing a 2nd edition of the Walbro retrofit instructions as we speak. Two equally sized hoses is a new one on me! What year is your car? Do you happen to have a photo of the pump assembly showing the two identical convoluted hoses? I have some feedback from Chocadoodledoo and Chris99 to add but does anyone else have any suggestions for any other improvements to the document? The plastic clips to release the bucket are quite a fiddle, I found if you released one you could ease the bucket enough to insert a matchstick in the gap and then undo the others. Before I did this I would undo one move to the next one and the first would close again. Yes, you're right Roger they are a right pain. However, there is a tip in the fitting guide to deal with them. Have you read it? Who reads instructions, obviously not me.

I do think it would be more normal to have a filter before the injectors, with a separate regulator, but this setup is not altogether uncommon on cheaper cars and bikes. Emil at Custom Morgan is doing this and getting more even firing as indicated by reading the plugs and a more smooth idle. My plugs read one side more rich than the other side, I get a lot of pop and crackle backing off the throttle and I have no leaks in the intake system. It boils down to uneven fuel distribution.
