In the beginning.

Neighbours daughter stored furniture, which seemed like attractive housing for mice.
Which when furniture were removed, moved into my Morgan, creating a new comfortable home in my hat.
Part of mouse redecoration, was chewing a big hole in my hat, and filling the void with soft and comfy material.
Mice needs toilet training, small black pills was left everywhere.

After hoovering the interior, test drive commenced. I could see that my uninvited guest have had a snack from the radio cables no longer being used.
The test drive revealed a quite siginiqant leak of coolant, which seemed to come from the water pump.
When draining the coolant, I could hear air being sucked into the pump!
New pump purchased, and installed, so whats next?

Wire wheel cleaning and polishing.
I usually clean the wheels outdoor, then carry the wheels to the first floor where I live.
This time I decided to clean and polish the wheels outdoor.
I have noticed that working on the morgan houtdoor improves neighbour relations. Bypassers and neighbours starts conversations. Which everyone is in need of these days.
My girlfriend gave me a electrical toothbrush two yeras ago. I´ve never used in my mouth, so its debut was when cleaning the wire wheels. fantastic tool, but the battery is only sufficient for one wheel at a time. So hard work for the last three wheels as I wanted to drive it.

I cant make the picture upload function form my ipad, so you have to use your imagination.

Geir, you created enough of a picture with your literary skills... Thanks. I was cutting the grass for the second time this season and the rain started, currently taking a break, if the rain continues I will have a go at firing up the old Mog, wnd if it starts I will polish the flywheel a bit unless the clutch has stuck..again..The Cetec determines the battery is charged, fingers crossed..(-:

Good luck with the water pump Geir, just a note of warning on the mouse droppings and urine, these creatures are good carriers of Salmonella which like the current virus is a pretty serious illness so just be careful about hand washing etc when clearing up after them.

It's not helped by the fact that they pee about once a minute so good coverage..

Mouse urine rots steel like nothing else. My perforated Land Rover rear crossmember being a great example. The stash of nuts we found inside was the giveaway.

I had a mouse situation in my garage... I was very lucky that no wires were damaged.

My two pronged attack of putting poison everywhere combined with an electronic device (which has a special 'Turbo Nutter' setting) has seen them off.

I stripped off the old foam work and found an identical replacement supply online - which I have fixed with high temperature glue - and all is back to normal.

The big issue with mice is if they decide to go for your electrics - that can be a huge job to rectify.

What a lovely nest Neil. It is a shame to have to evect them after so much hard work.

While you are in there with new foam you might like to consider running a strip either side of the bonnet hinge and using a piece of plastic sheet or aluminium to block the central part of the airbox. This will stop hot engine air coming into the cockpit in warm weather. The gap for the hinge at the front allows an amazing amount of hot air to enter the ventilation airbox. I have the optional aircon so it was quite important to do this to get the best possible result from the aircon.

And here is my version after 10k miles & in need of cleaning. I used duct tape to wrap the foam.

As our garage is integral with the house and we have a door between kitchen and garage we let the cats into the garage on a regular basis.
I suspect the mice smell the cats and don't stay.

Also, the only way into the garage, other than from the kitchen, is an aluminium roller shutter door, which is almost draught proof, so not easy for mice penetration.

Tumble dryers sheets are supposed to be good at deterring mice, and smell better than mothballs, which are also supposed to work. I use both during winter storage.
