Not sure how true but was told by my Mum the flat nosed King Charles variant she had became so popular very many years ago that the original long nosed line was almost lost. This lead to a breeder being offered a substantial sum of money to kickstart the long nose King Charles line again. He eventually managed it but they had to add the Cavalier suffix to differentiate. Certainly have a preference for these.
