I also bought a copy of Bert Weedon's Play in a Day.

I now have sore finger tips and a muddled brain but I am getting there. I have plenty of time to practice!

Any chance of a pic of the 355? Is it red? Sunburst? Is the colour important ... like on a morgan? (Answer : yes it is). Some v. good lessons on YouTube my favourites are Justinguitar and paul Davids and Adrian at anyonecanplayguitar.com - all 3 easily found.

I would also like to see a photo of the 1969 355. Until then I will send a fresh photo of my 2010 1960 50th anniversary from Memphis as a consolation. My absolute favorite guitar which I play most of all. Nitro lacquer, pickups without wax, slim neck, very light for a 335 and absolutely balanced in weight. I love her. The kind of nonsense you come up with sitting around the house...

I wanted a VOS (vintage original specification) with a matt finish. Here in Germany there were only high gloss lacquer versions. I had no chance to get this guitar at the dealers. They didn't bother and they wanted to sell what they had in stock. But there is a very good shop in London. They made a phone call to Gibson and I got one of the very last ones with matt lacquer before the series was finished. It was the first guitar I bought without playing it before and I was very lucky, it is that good.

Started repainting the ground floor front of the house today with a 1.5 inch brush, no point in rushing a good job is there?

Perhaps he means the A35 from Brescia to Milano - it is only 62.1 km long.

Those Katanas are excellent little amps, I have one in my living room for those times when I can't be arsed to go down to the studio.

The one thing I would say about them is that when you get a looper pedal, you'll want to move the effects upstream of the looper so you don't end up with everything sounding the same. So a Boss GT-1 is an inexpensive and indispensible add-on. The PRS guitar is not quite such a cheap option, but you can work up to that ;-)

Hi Heinz,

I have tried to get some photos with some help as I couldn't do it myself, i'm not too hot with these computer things. Nice to see you have the same taste as me in Morgans as well.

Very cool, Marcus, thanks for posting the pictures. Yes, what a nice 1969 355 with the bindings and ebony fretboard. She looks really beautiful. I think the walnut finish goes very well with the black or dark ebony fretboard and the gold plated hardware.
Your son, or a previous owner, attached the Stop Tailpiece for reasons I can well understand. Do you know if the guitar previously had a Trapeze Tailpiece or a Bigsby? (Such a tailpiece with a tremolo lever).
Yes, the model years of our 4/4 are very close together, almost the same series with MX5 gearbox etc., something really to like and to keep in the long run.

I thought I should share this exchange of messages on Telegram with my daughter, who lives near Johannesburg, this morning.

Have a look at the air traffic over Italy. Most is overflying Italy from and to other places. Internally some police flights, some air freight and very few passenger flights.

Gene:
Have a look at it over South Africa! NOTHING.

Peter:
A Virgin flight JNB to Heathrow is taxiing for take off now.

Love the Johannesburg airport. You can watch all the support vehicle movements 😊

Gene:
Yes, that ws the only thing on th map when I looked before.

You literally have nothing to do other than to watch ground transport move around O R Tambo airport... The times we live in....

🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂

Hi Heinz
The 355 had a trapeze tailpiece when my son bought it ,he fitted the stop tailpiece so it plays better, but kept the old bits so can return it back to original ,the tuners have been upgraded as well,he tells me its a players guitar more than a collectors piece .Im no expert but its a great starter pack.
