Captain Tom wanted to get a £1000 for the NHS charities, he’s 99 years old, just had a new hip and wants to do 100 lengths of his garden before his 100th birthday. His garden is 25m long The BBC clip is great, his family set up a justgiving page. He got just over the £10000 So they pushed their luck and went for £250,000. Then went for £500,000 They thought they’d go for £1m. He’s well on his way to £4m now. So his garden is 25m long and he will do 100 lengths, 2,500m for £4m makes it £1,600 per metre.
1. Nice return on investment for the NHS, I wish they all came through like that. Bless 'em.
2. Great to see that the public can see the value in a man of his stature.

He shows what can be done. An amazing guy.
We are now donating monthly to the local food bank but I have also added funds to his walk.
£4.8m and climbing fast.
Hard times are clearly ahead as this looks like a long term problem.

Captain Moore has just hit the right spot.
The country needs a good news story, we all want to show our appreciation to the NHS and this benefits the whole NHS not just a local hospital or specific illness charity (which still needs our support).
Captain Moore is doing his own marathon for the benefit of others in a modest and unassuming way,

Just passed £5,000,000 and climbing at rate of roughly £11,000 per minute at 1010hrs
