Having seen the 120/70R19 and 110/90 B19 tyres fitted, the 110/90 B19 (Michelin Commander II) look more in proportion as the 120/70 R19 just look too small in diameter and profile, they appear lost under the mudguards. I don't think there is a whole lot of difference in performance, they are both better than the standard Avons or Blockleys (and probably Excelsiors) but the life is considerably lower as well, about 4 or 5000 miles at best. You will need to recalibrate your speedo as well as the error is excessive with smaller diameter motor cycle tyres on the front. These tyres do allow you to remove the front wheels easily without removing the mudguards.

I agree Raphy,
I fitted a pair of Michelin Commanders last year just before going to the M3W Treffen in Grindelwald. When we got back to UK, 2,300 mls they were bald. I know the Treffen is hard on tyres but i think the Michelin compound is just too soft. i then fitted a pair of 110 x 90 x 19" Pirelli MT tyres as used by Harley's. Grip is certainly as good as the Michelin, how long they last will be found out when we can get out again.

Nigel has done just over 3000 on his Commander II tyres and has about half the tread depth left........he must drive like Miss Daisy laugh2 . We tracked his car to 0 degrees and spent some time getting it spot on, maybe that helps....along with motorway miles rather than twisty bits?

I have been very happy with my Duro 308s. Super cheap. Wearing well. Traction similar to OEM Avons.
