Of course it is always possible that the last one you check is also the first one you check - if that is the one that blows the fuse somestick

A quick update !!! So good news and not good news.. Connected each solenoid in turn to the power on the connector and then earthed the other side. Each solenoid gave a healthy clunk and didn't show any sign of drawing excess power. I made sure they all had a good few 'clunks'. I thoroughly cleaned all the connectors and one of them did look a bit suspect - but only a bit. Then I connected them all up and went through the same process for each one (whilst having the other 3 connected). All good no problems . Cleared the ECU faults then went for a 'good drive' whilst delivering food to my Mum. All good no problems. ECU came back with all the oxygen sensor faults which is what I expected as I didn't want to connect the oxygen sensors until I can confirm how the solenoids are behaving . Anyway I couldn't make the fuse blow , so I've now connected 3 of the 4 oxygen sensors back and so far so good. I'll do the 4th one in the morning . its nearside , downstream and the exhaust was too hot to connect it! Hopefully not jumping the gun, but I'm not expecting anything suspect when I connect the fourth one.

So, assuming the 4th sensor doesn't cause a problem , I haven't really fixed anything other than cleaning connectors and 'working the solenoids'. The other thing I noticed is that the error code for the last oxygen sensor states Bank 2, and I thought Bank 2 was offside according to everything I've read. As always Guru feedback is appreciated

Thanks for Keith's recommendation

Bank 1 is same side as cylinder 1. In turn cylinder 1, 2 and 3 are on offside. So....bank 1 is right hand or offside. I believe this would make your fault code reporting correct.

Confirmation from US website: Front driver side bank 2 sensor 1, rear driver side sensor 2, pass side is bank 1.

Glad you got a result albeit a frustrating one confused2. Take it there were no signs of cable/loom faults.

Wiring looms looked fine (as far as where the eye could see). Re Cylinder 1 / bank 1 - in the US, I assumed the drivers side is the near side , hence my confusion. Where is cylinder 1 on the Mog?? I thought it was on the near side!! I must admit im half expecting it to go again, but Im not too worried this time if it happens. Thanks for all your help!

Cylinder 1 is front r/h or offside. They are numbered 1,2,3 on that side which is bank 1. On l/h bank 2 it's the same configuration starting from the front with 4,5,6.

As it looks like it may have been a poor plug to socket connection with the tiny internal pins, hope you have it sorted

I use a special grease called Contralube 770, & apply it whenever I take apart these connections & on Mogs with very exposed electrics may be worth applying anyway as prevention
