+1. What a lucky fellow you are.

I went into Salisbury, the first time in 6 weeks, to go to the Asian Grocer to buy food ingredients unavailable in normal supermarkets.
Owned and run by a group of British Asians it is as normal. Social distancing? Sort of.

Going into town was a very strange experience, the town was almost empty, many, many closed ships. It seems that a number of clothes shops will never re-open, stock has been removed.
The only shops open were food and pharmacy outlets and a few small Indian and Chinese restaurants offering takeaways.
The main car park was virtually empty, parking charges suspended until future notice.

It is hard to imagine any form of return to the old busy normality. By the time this is over there will be few towns and cities that have a viable traditional retail purpose.
We will have learnt to do without most retail shops in towns and won't go back, other than for some limited specialities.
Food, DIY, garden and electronics are served by out of town "sheds".

So what will the landlords do with these unwanted buildings?

I've never owned a yellow car, which is strange because I think most cars look better in yellow, especially Morgans.

ps - An opportunity to take a grinding disc to that doorstep? (and get the meter cabinet moved upwards)...

Turn them into housing? There's still a massive housing shortage.

The meter box isn't too much of a problem, nor that step by the back door (I removed the step extension (a paving slab and support brickwork) from there years ago.

That is one tight reverse manoeuvre Graham. I found my angle grinder today tidying the garage plus go knows how many horns, headlight bowls & the good old colourtune, dwell meter etc
