Enjoyed the Bentley programme. - just watched a few minutes of the Aston so far, but thinking isn’t it going to be exactly the same programme but slightly different?

Enjoyed both, certainly can't knock the content as these must be hard work to put together, and any chance to sniff some VOC's via the 'telly that aren't repeats at the moment, are welcome

Anyone notice ‘’ the engines are built in Aston’s engine plant in Cologne ‘’ ? They use Mercedes engines FFS, next week will probably be ‘’ the engines are built in Morgan’s engine plant in Munich’’? 😂 looking forward....
The V12s are built for them by Ford at the Cologne factory, they were essentially two V6s glued together, but have evolved quite a bit over the years! The V8s are AMG.

The Bentley and Aston programs seemed to me to be two sides of the same coin. I'm really looking forward to the Morgan program as it has to be totally and completely different, if for no other reason that the build time is somewhat longer than for the Aston and Bentley.
Did anyone notice that the Bentley body shell is pressed and glued together in Germany?

Having bodies pressed and glued in Germany and the engines made in Germany also, perhaps after Brexit they’ll move the rest there too!

https://www.autobeatonline.com/articles/building-aston-martin-engines-in-cologneby-handThis article says the AM factory in Cologne is separate from the Ford Plant , just makes v8's and v12's for AM's and each engine is 'built' by a single engineer thats takes 20 hours. So it is an AM engine !

It's a pity they didn't show some of that on the programme, it sounds a lot more interesting than glueing panels on.
