I can well believe that the car was modified, they all are aren't they, but the story about it being delivered in boxes seems unlikely.

There is something rather fishy about this one. The may be some truth in the story , but I fear it has been wildly embellished over the years. Like Peter I can't believe that MMC would release a car "in boxes" .

There are glaring inaccuracies in the description of the car (4 Weber carbs , I am not aware of any such set up for a 4 cylinder car , 4 Amals maybe?, The second car with 2 twin chokes are on the wrong side of the engine for a Ford Crossflow)

Brave person taking this one on as a rebuild.

Andy I agree with your opinion regarding the car from the restoration aspect, it's just the tale about this Ken Attwell chap.and his story I believe there could be some element of truth in the detail about Mr Attwell along with his co-director purchasing the cars from Morgans, after all the Morgan Motor Company has sold cars into the USA in kit form, and Ken Attwell was linked with Fords also he may have been considered to have been in "the automotive manufacturers club" who knows ?

Looks like a dodgy kit car to me.

It's a bit of a mystery.- I'm actually wondering if it is a Morgan

The body has a touch of a Rutherford lightweight about it but that's about it The dash has instruments from a 1600E Cortina and the engine is a pre Crossflow.

Both registration numbers seem to be on the DVLA computer as an Attwell Morgan - 824 THU last taxed 1981 and KVA8P is shown as being SORN'd

Without seeing photos of the chassis and axle it's hard to be sure what it is.

I think under the skin of this car there might not be much of what we consider Morgan, the rear axle is set quite well back in the wheel arch whereas if original it would have been set forwards. Also if you look at the picture of the sister car the front offside wheel appears to have an extreme negative camber angle which might suggest that the suspension has been replaced on that particular car
