Both my Avons scalloped inside tread. Had the front wheels aligned and replaced Avons with Coker Excelsior and no problem.

I clamp 2, 6" spirit levels to the brake discs then measure between them at the disc end and then at the far end. If its the same at both ends the wheels are parallel.
Only the original Avon's scrubbed off, all others have been OK.

Only the original Avon's scrubbed off, all others have been OK. When I saw your Post I immediately thought great point for measurement and why not use a magnetic laser level on the discs? Point them down to get one measurement and point them forward to get the other measurement. I tried my regular 6” magnet level on the discs and they can fit on them easily.

On motorcycles scuffing and feathering is usually a sign of an under inflated tire. However, motorcycles also lean.
