KVA cars was Ken Vincent Attwell not Ken Vivian Attwell which I guess is close so at least some of the story has some truth to it.
I expect dad made his daughter a copy of a Morgan because she wanted one and either he couldn't afford one, or thought he could make a better one. I expect he went to the Morgan factory and bought some badges in boxes.

I would not have thought you would get away with selling kits for a Morgan replica today. Obviously Morgan did not pursue abuse of design and copyright in the past. A bit naughty using a genuine Morgan badge and then roughly engraving Attwell on it, let alone getting it registered using the Morgan name, all be it coupled with his own.
I think this is one which should stay in the barn,.
PS. Isn't this advertisement actually an example of "Passing off" ie. Representing something to be what it is not. I would have thought that a complaint to Ebay would either have the entry removed or have the description substantially modified to make it clear that it is not a Morgan in any way and that the only thing that had anything to do with the Morgan factory was the badge.

Neither of them was sold though, they were just kept personally. It's a monumentally badly written advert but when you pick out the detail it is the "co-director's" car - 824THU - that is for sale, having recently turned up in a builder's yard. The DVLA shows this a 1963 car with a 1143cc engine. All the bumph about the daughter's car - KVA8P - is interesting but totally irrelevant. The seller obviously owns that one too and the DVLA shows it has an MOT history going back 10 years.

Buyer collects at J40 of M4. Says enough for me. Typical ploy for scam sales. Reduces, if not totally hides, the seller’s address. Mobile tel number adds to the suspicion. There may well be some truth in the history details about Atwell, though. I remember a company unit in a small industrial estate next to Pembrey airfield who were making firbreglass GT40 body shells. Nothing about any Atwell Morgans rings a bell though.

If I remember correctly, there was a kit car which Morgan felt was so close to their design that they felt obliged to take legal action. Early to mid 1980's I think it was, can't remember the name of the kit car

It doesn't say collect from a motorway junction, it's just an indication of location. When do you ever see a full address in an eBay listing?
I don't think there is anything suspicious about it, once you've unpicked the garbled description it contains genuine information. If it was a scam it would be fake information about a genuine Aston Martin, not real information about a fake Morgan! No scammer would go to those lengths for such a small reward.

That is a hard thing to bring it as a Morgan!
There is nearly everything wrong at the first glance. Already mentioned: doors, Windscreen, spare wheel mount, dash, bonnet but also: seats, radio mount, wheels, two wipers, hood mount, bumper mount,....
And for a car in this condition - there is rust only on bumpers and scews. Maybe the rest is just plastic;-)

There is nearly everything wrong at the first glance. ... two wipers.... Plus 8 had 3 wipers. Other models didn't get three wipers until somewhere after 1976. My '76 had two.
