0 Bids until now for the Fake Morgan. The seller has his good ratings almost exclusively through purchases from sellers. He himself has rarely sold stuff worth an average of £20. There's not likely to be a buyer for the fake Morgan, or is there?

It has now been re-listed, but still with the same starting price.

I only hope that someone is not tempted into this one, thinking they have a starting point for a 4/4. Caveat Emptor .... as they say.

It would be a nice little kit car project at sub £1000. He's clearly either deluded, or been conned himself.

Having too much time on my hands I contacted the seller, who insists it is based on a Morgan chassis but with Triumph front suspension and Ford running gear. He also insists it is not kit however when you compare his photos with those of a Burlington SS kit they are identical, so I have my suspicions that it is probably not a Morgan chassis either.

The relisted item is here: Attwell Morgan on eBay.

Actually the price has been reduced to £7020 (from £7410 last time) and the description has been modified to acknowledge the Spitfire underpinnings. I've no idea if it's worth it, it's certainly not for me.

He also says " hers had a Cosworth crossflow engine 2 Webber carbs (see picture 6) "

However picture 6 shows an engine with inlet and exhaust manifold on the same side, so not a 'crossflow' by any stretch of the imagination.

I think I'll stick with delusional. smile

That's just another side-effect of the rambling, unstructured prose of someone who is barely literate. Picture 6 is the daughter driving her car but as I said, all the stuff about the daughter's car with its Xflow engine is entirely irrelevant. The car for sale is the "co-director's" car whose pre-Xflow engine is presumably the one pictured.

I find the advert fascinating, it's like a coding puzzle smile

Price reduced again to £6020 , but zero bids.

Doesn't look as if it is going to sell as the second auction has now finished. Wonder what the seller will do now?

Maybe he will keep relisting it at reduced prices unit it gets down to what it's worth. A long way to go yet I feel.

It's not in his current items but he does have this as an amusement while we wait: BENTLEY GREEN-RED- LABEL 1920s BOAT TAIL ORIGINAL BODY. Came off an "old Bentley" in 1927, allegedly!
