Rudolf
Waiting to collect Tango at the factory.

Hi Rudolf,
Good to hear that you still own Tango! Thanks for forwarding this link, an interesting buy in normal circumstances and I think I’d maybe have a punt @ £38,600.00, if the rate on the Net for Dkr is correct. According to Google translate the “headlights later used on the Aero”. laugh2

P.S. the original UK registration - M850 KUY still shows this car’s details.

Hi Brian.
Indeed happy to still own Tango.Tango was over the winter at the factory for some work. But due to the virus I cannot collect.

The yellow +8 is for sale in Norway and the price is in Norwegian Kr and is approx GBP 39000.The NOK is on the moment very low to other currencies due to the low oil price. And the car is for sale on this website now from at least one year.Maybe the price can be adjusted accordingly.

BTW I am not connected in any way to the seller.

Rudolf.

I shall update the wording, thanks for checking. smile

It could well be a culmination of both, but knowing Morgan I’m sure the Porsche headlamp was rejected based on cost, but the Beetle headlamp was available and the right price and the ability to incorporate a front spoiler was probably serendipity! Who knows?!!

As regards Aero info/stories, after buying six Aero’s from the factory I do have loads of these though most of them are not capable of being published!

Cheers
cheers

With Morgan anything is a possibility (part of what I love about them), I bet those stories are rather good as well knowing them!

Nick and thecustomer are really doing a great job on the wiki page itself. Thanks again to everybody. For the input and the updates.

PS adding pics it's supereasy smile

Thanks Ale, you did a fab job to get the ball rolling!
I will have another read tomorrow, see if there are any spelling errors or bits that need updating for consistency (I updated the formats on bhp/kw so they matched, previously it was mixed up so kw/bhp, bhp/kw, hp and so on).

Whilst there is some truth behind using what was available at the time, it was not down to BMW as to why these were chosen but rather the odd shape. Chris saw the lights and noted the ascue angle was perfect as it solved an aerodynamic problem at the front of the vehicle.

I will have to double-check my source and make sure just incase either way.. cheers

Here is a picture of the car your referred to Brian and she now resides in Norway with another Morgan collector/user.

Thanks Rich, looks good doesn't it! Also as Graham says, the yellow colour is super! cheers Well hunted down...
P.S. do you know the owner Rich?

Welcome Brian, sorry for the delay in reply this is where she used to live with a few other famous cars, I have spent some time trying to locate this picture to share with you.

A fabulous colour for a very important car now for sale in Norway for a reasonable price considering her importance I would say.

Thanks Richard, yes I've been to this particular establishment when we did the Nordkapp Trip. It's a very interesting house reflecting the owner's interest in both Morgan's, also other cars and sailing. I knew that he had bought the Giallo Fly car from CM, but didn't know where it went after his ownership...

I agree that the advertised price is very reasonable, particularly as I'm sure that it should be possible to buy it even cheaper because as Rudolf said it's been for sale for 1-year plus. However, with two of our cars for sale and my old Plus 8 just about to be stripped down for a total rebuild and a respray to Indigo Blue; like yours (it's original colour) I'm afraid that swmbo would not be impressed if I even contemplate another car! doh

Agreed Brian, timing is everything with the ladies although it seems a bit of a shame as this one would really bridge a gap for you I'm sensing but we have to know where the limits are with swmbo they don't need testing too often..

Will we be getting some pictures of your lovely lady as she is in the process of rebuild I think there would be a lot of interest in your project with an early one such as yours ?

Good luck with the rebuild at MMC.

p.s. If you do need a garage for a yellow car there will be plenty of empty one's down here for a year or so innocent This one is relatively just around the corner from us and used to hold a friends V12 E type sadly he has left us all for his next adventure.

Thanks Richard, I don't know when they will start the rebuild as all the attention (quite rightly!) is to get production up and running, but with full social distancing in a factory not designed for it. Hope to be able to follow the rebuild with photos, the idea is not to be concours but original ex-factory condition - which in 1970 was far from concours! So no leather seats, a Neverflex hood, etc, etc.

Noted the garage, interesting that Dartmouth property prices are holding firm! Mind you now that we don't have a house there, it would be a long old trek from Eton to change over cars... doh

I wanted to edit the infobox mainly with links, updated body types, some return carriage etc but I was not able to make it frown
