I was able to relocate the headlights after all.
A bit of soldering, a couple of new connectors, some persistence, and a few choice words is all it took.
I've decided to leave the blinkers where they are.
First hands-on project => Done.

Congratulations! And the signal lamps will have less chance of melting in that location.

Is it sensible to cover the motor cooling fins? Airflow is essential to keep engine temperature at an acceptable range.

Hannes, for some silly reason some states in the USA think the conventional M3W lights do no conform to regulations. For that reason some (maybe all) M3Ws arrive with the headlights in the wrong location. As you and others observed, this probably is not good for the air cooled engine. That’s why Morgan provides relocation brackets (not free of cost), so owners in the US are able to relocate the lights to where they belong.

There is a jig that needs to be unwired and rewired so I think I'll just have an auto electric shop do it for me.

how much cooling does an S&S engine experience when it's mounted inside a motorcycle frame, surrounded by components, gas tank above, and not nearly fully exposed like a Morgan 3 Wheeler engine with just headlights in front of it?

Fundamentally the S&S engine is designed to be cooled by air rushing past it on the side as in a motorcycle not head on to the front of the engine as in the M3W.
