Yes, I haven't been near a supermarket since the beginning of March. Seems like a very high-risk area to me. There's no need though, we have regular Ocado deliveries and our local pub has turned into a corner shop.

Ps agree regarding supermarkets ..... I consider that my highest risk activity ..... sadly no delivery out here and the local village shops are tiny and don't have much of a range of things ..... (sign of the times ... they serve as a 'fill in' assuming most work and main shop in the town 8 miles away )

I've been doing the shopping in the weeks when we can't get a Waitrose delivery.
As we are both under 70 and not part of any risk group we felt it better to leave the slots to those who are more in need.

But at some point and in the absence of a vaccine, everyone is going to have to do their own risk assessment and get on with their life in a way that works for them. I suspect that for some it will mean living in virtual isolation, which is unhealthy.

Another issue that has not received much attention is mental health. The lockdown has had a significant impact on mental health, including the appearance of Covid Phobia, resulting in some very low risk people locking themselves away to the point that malnutrition sets in. It isn't just mental health,
dentists are becoming increasingly worried that there is a dental health time bomb ticking away, many alternative and traditional medicine practitioners, including physiotherapists, acupuncturists, chiropodists etc, etc are all unavailable.

CV19 risk depends on individual circumstances; applying your rules to everyone is not appropriate. Plus, the economy would collapse and even more people would die.

In my bit of Scotland, I actually think everyone is even nicer to each other than before, politeness and consideration abounds, I don’t see any of the animosity and rage some of you write about. I’d like to think the geezer with the Bentley and the funny shirt would be made to feel welcome here, fair enough, no handshakes or hugs, but a lack of taste is a symptom, not a crime.

It's all about the fact he has come down from London a high infection rate area to occupy his second home which is against government guide lines incase you had not read them.

We live in a poorly resourced area NHS wise and that is why he is not welcomed in our area at the present time we cannot run the risk of some random "have it all and sod the rest of you" coming down for the weekend.

On the whole Devon is a very welcoming county in peace time (as other regular TMers will confirm) and we enjoy the variety of loud shirts and voices that appear from time to time they are necessary for our present facilities to be maintained.

All the locals without exception have drawn closer together to help the vulnerable out and there is a great atmosphere in the area which is generally very good in peacetime, it's a wonderful place to live and all we ask is a modicum of consideration to be offered by others, not too much to ask but as Neilda says there are a few cretins out there.

ewn .... have to agree .... very low key and polite on the whole..... even the occasonal issue in supermarkets isn't badness ... Seems to be mostly tcheucters who haven't listened to the wireless since the old King died and are just oblivious! .... ....Saying that, in the whole lockdown I've never had to queue once to get into a shop .... I suspect if the population levels were like where you see the pics of queues half a mile round the car park and up the street there might be a few more frayed tempers!

The infection rate in London is now half that of the South-West so he'll have far more chance of being infected by you than the other way round. Fair play to him for taking the risk.

He could be an immune carrier.
