Same here Rich, but Nicola has said there's no real change to the advice in Scotland. We can exercise more than once a day now though.

Gordon, I can barely believe I'm saying this about her but I'm pretty sure Nicola has the right responsible approach to this and Doris is hiding behind his skirt again.. I waited 33 years to get my first Morgan and have enjoyed one for 16 years I think I can hang on a wee bit longer until it's safe and the emergency services have had a chance to have a breather any thing else is pure selfishness imho. It's elementary maths the more cars on the roads the more accidents there will be particularly as the cars will not be in the best of order and the breakdowns will be manifold, they'll still be out there clapping come Thursday though in gratitude

The new rules for England DO NOT apply here in Wales. We are still on lockdown and anyone foolish enough to travel unnecessary are being stopped, fined and directed to return to their home

I think you've nailed it regarding the shifting of responsibilities, Tim. It's the same style of leadership as Trump, in that devolving responsibility locally and tracking hotspots is an easy way of staying managerially on the fence. Have a problem..? Told you so. Defeat it..? Told you so.
I'm happy enough to get mobile again. After all, accidents can happen regardless of your journey reason.
Life is full of risk. You can mitigate against it by limiting what you do, but heart attacks and strokes happen to even the healthy. Drive sensibly, social distance and you can carry on with life. Staying indoors is unhealthy for mind and body.
Life has to continue.

It seems to me that the Priapic Buffoon has completely copped out of being in charge. What they've done is pass responsibility for COVID infection onto us lot. If we die now it's because we weren't alert enough and we failed to control the virus.
Notice how the coloured triangles have gone from red to green? They want us to think it's ok now and go back to work, but they don't want to directly say so.
It's the old 'herd immunity' policy back. BJ knows that this is going to lead to another infection spike and thousands more deaths, but that's a sacrifice he's willing to make.
Blow that for a game of soldiers. We're going nowhere for a while. Apart from certain industries like restaurants etc we weren't asked or told to stop going work, quite the opposite. Please see below from the Government's website published in March. Certain employers where they believed they could not ensure safe practice, rightly took the decision to close. 4. Going to work As set out in the section on staying at home, you are allowed to travel for work purposes, including to provide voluntary or charitable services, where you cannot work from home. With the exception of the organisations covered above in the section on closing certain businesses and venues, the government has not required any other businesses to close to the public – indeed, it is important for business to carry on.Employers and employees should discuss their working arrangements, and employers should take every possible step to facilitate their employees working from home, including providing suitable IT and equipment to enable remote working.Sometimes this will not be possible, as not everyone can work from home. Certain jobs require people to travel to, from and for their work – for instance if they operate machinery, work in construction or manufacturing, or are delivering front line services. If you cannot work from home then you are allowed to travel for work purposes, but you should not do so if you are showing coronavirus symptoms, or if you or any of your household are self-isolating. This is consistent with advice from the Chief Medical Officer. Employers who have people in their offices or onsite should ensure that employees are able to follow the Guidance for employers and businesses including, where possible, maintaining a two metre distance from others, and washing their hands with soap and water often for at least 20 seconds (or using hand sanitiser gel if soap and water is not available).Work carried out in people’s homes - for example by tradespeople carrying out repairs and maintenance, cleaners, or those providing paid-for childcare in a child’s home - can continue, provided that the worker has no coronavirus symptoms. Again, it will be important to ensure that government guidelines are followed to ensure everyone’s safety. These include practicing excellent hand and respiratory hygiene, and maintaining a two metre distance from household occupants as far as possible. No work should be carried out in any household which is isolating because one or more family members has symptoms or where an individual has been advised to shield - unless it is to remedy a direct risk to the safety of the household, such as emergency plumbing or repairs, or to provide emergency childcare in a child’s home.

Staying indoors is unhealthy for mind and body.
Life has to continue. Very true. I suppose we're in a very different situation from most people as we have plenty of space and things to do to keep us occupied and exercised without leaving the property. We can walk the fields and work in the garden without getting physically close to anyone so life hasn't really changed much for us apart from going to the pub and we can't do that yet anyway. The community groups in which I participate have switched to meeting via videoconference and that works very well - better if anything than the weekly traipse down to the village hall or wherever as it gives the less able a chance to participate on the same basis as everyone else. The very nice people from Ocado keep us regularly supplied with anything we might need, and now our local pub has converted to a shop I can pop over there every week to stock up with veggies and have a chat. And with no family ties left, we don't have the same requirement to see parents, siblings or offspring. Lockdown gives us space, quiet, calm and contentment, so we're in no rush to end it. Your point about risk raises an interesting moral question. Of course people should be free to take whatever risks they wish with their own health. We do every day with our choices regarding eating, drinking, engaging in 'dangerous' activities and so on. But what responsibilities do we have regarding placing others at risk? As we have seen, the major problem with the coronavirus is that we can be infected and asymptomatic for a comparatively long period before we even know we have it. That's why the R0 figure is so high, we can unknowingly infect several other people before we feel ill ourselves. I have a reasonably robust constitution and have no great fears for myself, but that's not the case for 'er indoors or several of the people with whom I regularly interact. I see no reason whatsoever to raise their level of risk. I'm quite happy to wait until after the second spike has passed.

I agree. I have no doubt there will be some ulterior motives for Nicola's guidelines but at least they are right IMHO. Boris appears to have caved in to pressure from advisors who are concerned the economy will suffer, it's the economy v ordinary folks lives as far as I can see. My Morgan will be staying in the garage and I'll be sticking to the house and garden.

I am also going out, but only in the Morgan. Dominic Rabb clarified this morning on BBC one around 07:40 that there is no restriction to the amount you can drive with the exception of going into the devolved areas. Not times for violins or hearts and flowers statement but I’ve just had an absolute dermot 12 months and six months of treatment to buy me a little extra time (we are talking a few years three maybe five) and I have no intention whatsoever of missing the opportunity to not use every day to its maximum.
I bought this car in celebration of a better medical prognosis last October and apart from one pub lunch and again out to put tyres on it its stood unused in the garage that will change this week when, probably on Thursday, I shall fire her up and go for a drive I will be on my own in the car and I may meet up with another Morgan owner we will sit in our cars with a flask and chat at least 6 feet apart we will be parked up in a country side car park that at the moment is closed but as there is no barrier we will park in a corner and if anybody else comes close we will drive off I don’t think it’s irresponsible I think it conforms with the guidance and it’s my choice to do it.
Everyone must make their own choice but I do love the posting from somebody who put up something that said don’t count the days make the days count.
BR save miles to everyone.
