Has anyone found a steering wheel spacer for the 4-bolt Brooklands steering wheel?

I've seen it asked before here in multiple threads, but could not find an answer.

Try sitting in a car with the pedal box fitted in the forward position, and a 10.5" steering wheel. I'm 6' 2" tall and with this set up I can lift my left knee beside the steering wheel and get my foot flat on the car floor. Makes it comfortable for long drives. No spacer fitted. I was shown this at Goggles and Gauntlets last year and had mine set up within a week..

YES, I am planning to get another 3-Wheeler, to keep ACE#10 company, It will be Pete Larsen's next ACE 2.0 creation with a flat-6-boxer mid-engine design (I've posted plenty of info on it here).

I usually try to avoid my advertising my my own M3W ownership feelings here, and my experiences dealing with Morgan's leadership; looking at you Steve Morris and Mark Baldwin!

Since it was asked of ex-owners, my answer is; I'll never own anything made by Morgan again!

It's still basically true that there is no easily available, M3W alternative currently, but that is no excuse for the ongoing quality issues or abusive customer service so well documented here.

It was a Sunday evening drive in Liberty Motors ACE#7 that led Charles Morgan to agree with a new modern 3 Wheeler in Morgan's future. This of course that was before Steve Morris and Tim Whitworth ousted Charles Morgan from the company all together.

Honestly, I'm glad many seem to really enjoy their M3W experience, and anyone that asks me if they should buy one, all I sill say is... 'choose wisely'.

Have not peed on an electric fence but I have backed into one while holding a chute/water trough from a tanker. A true attention getter and makes you look at where you are going, whether in a field or on to a Morgan dealership, if you can find one.

Wow you must have had a real bad experience. I have upgraded about everything with mine but nothing ever broke and candidly could have lived with it but it makes me happy to customize and make it a bit better. One thing for sure when you buy an English vehicle you have to accept some quirkiness. Personally not sure what would make me sell mine as I love the smile it puts on my face and those around me. Three years of ownership and still have a smile. Pete's new thing looks like it might be nice so maybe I will make room in the garage and park it next to my Morgan but don't see it replacing my Morgan. So since I have one I don't get a vote but if my Morgan craps out there will be a new one on order. Now the European new version not so good but money can fix the problem.

In reply to Morph, our 50mm spacer was home made - a 50 mm length of 75mm/3inch Aluminium rod (nicely pre-cut and pretty cheap from www.clickmetal.co.uk) drilled with a pillar drill to match the steering wheel bolts - add decent quality suitable length bolts and job done - 8 years service now...

Understand you can buy spacers from motorsport places to match the Lifeline QR steering wheel coupler used by Morgan until recently...another alternative is a dished wheel...

Ok thanks, I assume that moves the wheel closer to the dashboard, so are you replacing a standard part with a shorter home built part?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the spacers do the opposite: they move the steering wheel away from the dashboard.

There are two reasons to do so:

A) you have short arms, and as the seats can't move forward, you need the steering wheel to get closer to you.


B) you are tall so have long legs, and want to rest the left leg while driving bending the knee high so you can "flat your foot". And you can't because the steering wheel is too close to the dashboard so you don't have room for the knee to come up.
