Thought it wise to go out for a shakedown blast before the school run tomorrow.

Since my last run I've fitted new front 4-pot brakes - they pull up pretty well, but obviously the pads need a bit of bedding in. Did some pretty hard braking (on purpose) and back only locked up once, so they seem to be doing a pretty good job.

Rear end has had new 4 leaf springs, panhard rod and bump stops. Really impressed with the back end - now really tight and it makes the steering appear much more positve but that may also be due to the slight raise at the rear? Cornering really well, and far less of the crashing and banging over potholes etc.

Very happy smile

Engine got a little warm, so stuck the 88 degree stat back in (had a 92 for winter) and adjusted the fan temp 'kick in' and now sits at the right level.

Well done. It sounds like a sorted car now.

Had a 50mile roundtrip to work yesterday. Lots of roundabouts!

Back end is so much better! I've lost all the 'chattering' I was getting, especially when the road surface is bad, and it's given me a lot more confidence to chuck it into corners.

Thoroughly recommend the panhard rod.

Still running a little warm, and the electric fan is coming on a lot, but I'm going to get my infrared thermometer on it today so see if it's an 'actual' issue (not just a dodgy gauge) and to make sure the fan comes in at the correct temperature.
