I am confident you will find the coilpack for a reasonable price in the UK. It was about 28€ over here.

No Laphroig tonight but a Woodford Reserve. cheers

If you want to find the right coilpack from NGK here is the Fomoco number of the original But it doesn't have to be NGK, Fomoco is probably ok too, just probably a bit more expensive, but not better.

Stunned to find them on the internet, lots of suppliers but chose NGK rather than a cheap one
a pal told me a yarn. He works for an oil additive company. They asked a technology supplier to undertake an extended test of an Audi, which they did by attaching an umbilical to the car an running it stationary for a fortnight.
Then it stopped and wouldn’t restart. It took ages to find out that the car had sensed that the steering wheel hadn’t been turned for a fortnight so there must be something wrong!

I suppose they must have had quite a lot of cases Of stationary cars running their engines for two weeks unattended, so you can understand their concern

While waiting for the coil pack I decided to start investigating the throttle pedal. As soon as I touched it a large cable tie fell out, it had snapped, and I think it might have been holding the throttle connector on.
There was some grease on it. Do you grease the throttle pedal? I didn’t think so. I have a picture where you can just see the tie in place, if it’s of interest.
Query: how does the throttle connector pull off? Any retaining devices?
Which direction? Out into the footwell or up into the underdash?
How would you get the throttle pedal out? Thanks for any pointers

I seem to remember Heinz doing something with his throttle unit, good luck this sounds a possible on the connector front.

Can’t get it off though!
The fault is getting quite bad so expecting a proper breakdown soon, and then we’ll see.

Stuart, try to press this part inwards on this side and the back side (or it is some way above this part, anyway it must happen on both sides at the same time, and you will feel where it is movable).

Then try to tear the plug upwards and habe a look at the contacts and use some clean contact spray.

If you want to remove the gas pedal, you need a second person because it is screwed through the splashboard, with nuts in the engine compartment.

If the accelerator is indeed the culprit, let me know. I still have the part number somewhere, and it has to be exact. I've got photos somewhere. You have to saw off the long, lower part of the pedal that matches the Ford Fiesta or Focus.

That way you can save a lot of money. Because even with Ford the pedal costs more than 250€ when new in my memory, not to imagine Morgan prices. At the end you have to drill two holes in the shortened pedal arm and screw the roller of the Morgan back on.

But I am sceptical if it is the pedal. By the way, I also had a lot of grease at that place.

As I said before, first look at all the contacts. Throttle body, MAF sensor, throttle pedal (where you currently are) I had changed my throttle pedal. The mistake had fooled me, because it was gone for a while. But in the end, the accelerator was not the culprit.

If the fault is getting worse and more permanent you or your garage have a much better chance to find it. BTW, if the fault is not the coil pack it is not too much lost money. I felt that the engine was a bit stronger with the new coil pack after 65.000km.
