Had my car in storage for the last 6 months so am spending quality time giving everything a going over. Noted that the boot gaskets had pulled off the track on the forward edge. A bit of silicone window gasket sealer on the metal and pushed everything back in place. Last year was remarkably filthy back there and I'm hoping this simple fix will help the dirt level. I think that the airgaps that occurred caused more air to be sucked out of the boot through the top and in doing so sucked more road mung in from the rear tire directly below. I gave up carrying anything that required cleaning there as everything came out filthy. I've also noticed quite a bit of road dust coming out on the top where the roll bars come through.

There's a lot going on with this car! With over 50,000 miles I'm seen most of it!

Like you I live in a very dusty environment, my main issue is living on 2 miles of steep 1:5 mountain dirt track that makes any vehicle covered before getting to hard road surface. Its a loosing battle trying to clean and maintain a standard with my 3 Moggies. I have tried to seal my M3W going round every crevice with filler and completely weather stripping the plastic boot tray all to no avail. Certainly have decreased the level of dust from unimaginable to just above tolerable levels. I decided to live in the mountains with the animals so that is the price I pay, will never win at a car show but the off roading is great fun

I, too, gave up all the dreams of a car show win. The idea of spending my free time with a tooth brush ferreting out the last speck of grime on the wire wheels gave my personal OCD fits. Drive them into the ground. Rebuild. Repeat. Sounds like a true Morgan owner to me!

OK Bruce, how do you deal with ground clearance? Or did you put a mini dozer blade on the front?

Luckily for me there is no traffic so I can weave around the holes, gullies, etc to my hearts content. I did have a minor calamity in the M3W on returning home after a heavy thunderstorm, putting power on going up the steepest section I hit a soft run off spot and the front dug in causing me to bend the underside of the oil cooler. Nothing major to repair but I had dirt stones and grit in every crevice. I admit to not driving the Morgans in the snow or ice on the road as there is a 200 ft drop on one side in parts!!! The Morgans are surprisingly good at going up steep rough roads, just doesn't do any good for the cosmetics

Interesting , keeps you on your toes or the edge of your seat. I lived on a dirt road that rose 1,000ft in 2 miles and then leveled off at the entrance of my driveway which itself was 1/4 mile long. Washing a car was pointless and the only vehicle I never got stuck with on that road was my Caterpillar Bulldozer. VW bug was the most serviceable and a ‘68 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible was a true land yacht that plowed through the high points😊. Hand a friend that insisted their Porsche was ok on that road, it wasn’t...

Good luck maintaining the M3W on your highway😊. I have started looking for air tight bags for things in the boot.
