Read today that Germany from the end of April 2020 has outlawed devices that permit speed camera alerts - fixed and mobile. So don't forget to disable on you device if driving through Germany.

On the continent most countries do not allow speed camera alerts or speed camera jammers in cars.
Mostly they are completely illegal and are not allowed in a car at all - active or disabled makes no difference.

You should be able to go into your device settings to disable the parts not needed/allowed.
I also seem to remember updating my Garmin maps a while ago and those for France were not included. I think it was due to France making camera alerts illegal at the time and Garmin taking the simple option of not allowing the France maps. I am not sure how they work now as not needed France Sat nav . I will have a look later. I suspect Garmin have updated their software to deal with it.

Just plead ignorance if you get your collar felt. Yes, no excuses but you might get a good cop on a good day :-)

Our TomTom gives a warning of a road hazard in France (can't remember exactly what it does) - enough to let you know that you are in a zone that is monitored. It doesn't tell you where the camera is though. As the alerts seem to line up with the French road signs warning of speed enforcement, I suspect that TomTom will start doing a similar thing in Germany. One day I will have the freedom to find out.

Clearly the unlimited sections of the a-bahn are not enough to encourage people to act responsibly elsewhere.

Yesterday people were commenting about restricting Volvo's top end!

I would have thought with climate change goals, Germany would have removed the derestricted limits on the a-bahns by now to reduces co2 and NOx figures?

.If you speed even a yard into a restricted zone on an autobahn the fines can be immense. If you are doing 220 kph say and dermot a 100kph zone you can basically lose license car & serious money.
