I'm curious as to how many Morgan owners have named, or intend to name, their cars. Further, how do they arrive at the chosen names? We often refer to cars as "she" but do some of our cars carry male names too? Once selected, does the name change over time; i.e. She use to be Susan, but now identifies as Ralph. When the car; he or she, is sold do you require the new owner keep the current name, or do you insist they come up with their own? How much influence does the significant other have in the "naming ceremony"? When replacing a current car, with a name, does the new car carry the same name? If so is the new car referred to as Junior, or the II, or III, or IV?
This, naming cars, seems to be as prevalent in the US as it is in the UK. Is it also common in other countries?
I had not given this a great of thought, but when people (even non Morgan owners) find out I'm a Morgan owner, they ask...."what did you name the car?" So now I have the additional pressure of coming up with a suitable and appropriate name for my beautiful car. (I'd ask for suggestions but am afraid of what those might be.)

Mine have all been female but never named one of them, I used to call my (figlass) Reliant Scimitar GTE "the plastic pig" but that was merely out of humour for what was actually a great car for us with legs like a greyhound on the Autobahns in the mid 70's. Never had a gender bender either. p.s. I've had a few "startyoubastards" though over the years

My Morgan is called "the red one" while the Landy is "the green one" or "the dirty one" Guess why!

Strangely the Morgan hasn’t got a name, but we often do name our cars..
Picked up another (non Morgan) car yesterday, and he’s called Raymond. The previous owner called him Raymond, and in my weird parallel universe I think it’s unlucky to rename a car that already has a name, just as you should never rename a ship/boat/dinghy.
Daily driver is called Bofski, or BOF for short, so named as he’s of Eastern European descent and has BOF on the number plate.

I have never named a car....until I got the Morgan, but she (there’s the answer to one question) has so much personality it seemed appropriate, so my Morgan is called Marilyn. Why? Because she has great curves and lots of oomph! My tin top is simply referred to as “the Merc” and SWMBO’s 911 is referred to as “the Porker”, they obviously don’t warrant names.

I have never named any of my vehicles until now. I have called my silver SS100 "Hawkwind" for obvious reasons.
Here for a good time not a long time!! Reg

We call my wife's Plus Eight," Henry The Eight " and my M3W " Annie " We purchased it for our 50 th wedding anniversary , our last M3W was named " Squinty " after the company Squint Interiors made and fitted the outrageous striped interior .
