Have any of you worn proper ppe face coverings and glasses? I got hold of a small pack (5) and tried wearing one in the supermarket. I found it impossible to wear the proper stuff and stop exhaled air from misting up my glasses, with the result social distancing was a challenge and I knocked down a display of something. Am I doing something wrong?
I have reverted to the use of my western style bandana. Probably useless as a bug filter, but at least I can see.

I found the 3M one's were compatible with spectacles when I had to wear one in a disease control environment that didn't require the wearing of positive ventilation equipment all the time. We didn't bother with the blue one's as the company decided they were not offering us enough protection. If I felt I needed to wear one 3M would be the way to go Hivis have them I think.

The ones I had were unbranded and probably from China. I expect they cost a lot less than the 3M version. BUT unless you are part of a high risk team, they are what the NHS are dishing out. I'm actually quite cross about this. If we want to do proper PPE, fine, but don't pretend that what is on offer is any better than the "Duck and Cover" mantra of the 1960s when nuclear war was a prospect.

I did wonder where the plane load of things that arrived courtesy of the RAF ended up. Maria's MiL had to make an unplanned trip to Emergency this week. THe ambulance crew were well setup and dealing with it like professionals. She left her glasses so I had to do a run, all well organised at Emergency reception, sprayed, wiped and delivered to her inside. However went to collect her fully equiped the kind nurse bringing her out had no gloves, mask or gown and was right up to her pushing the chair. She had been given one of the light masks but as always did not have it fitted correctly. I had wiped down the entire rear of the car, had a good mask, sanitiser, gloves and was very careful. Their suggestion was to take the bus or a taxi. 90 years old, suspected blood clot in her leg. They do some things so well and then snatch defeat from the jaws of excellence. Bum. Still respect them for dealing with everything they do. Cleaned the inside of the car twice, well that's the next two years worth of cleaning sorted This COVID thing seems easy, just do it on computer and watch the TV for a bit more than usual. But when something goes out of kilter you really do see a difference. Nasty.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

At risk of stating obvious, should be a wire along one edge - it should be at the top and can be moulded to the bridge of the nose to keep most of the exhale off the specs! Also, try washing specs with washing up liquid - rinse off and let dry - sometimes (depends on air temp and humidity) helps to prevent the misting for an hour or two at least.

I couldn't agree more, when I watched the NHS staff wearing those apologies of masks in the early days of this thing I just felt great anger knowing exactly how careful you have to be with this type of disease. We all had to go and be fitted for the positive fed full face masks and a lot of instruction on the necessity of fitting the 3M to avoid risks. You either take a professional approach to the subject or don't bother, the half arsed approach will reap a similar result and shouldn't come as a surprise, it is consistent with Doris's approach to Cummings - don't fire him just jog along and hope it goes away because Joe public is stupid such is the elitist arrogant attitude of the governing party.

Yes I am sad, I still have my nuclear war training manual, I found it courtesy of a Covid lockdown clear out. White wash your windows chaps, build your under stair cupboard Fall out shelter and lay in a ditch if you are caught outside.
