Ours is covered in a thick layer of black neoprene. This makes invisible to the casual observer and also makes it much more comfortable to rest feet on.
I lifted the carpet before I fitted mine, then just lay the carpet over the front of the locker. Makes it completely invisible and having to pull back the carpet isn’t that much of a pain considering you have to kneel and reach in to access it anyway. That’s what I did too.

Similar carpet method , but I used a A 4 security box bolted to the floor. Perfect fit , and Cost about twelve pound. And fully lockable.
