Maybe because I don’t use my brakes a lot...just squeeze the sphincter, drop a cog and hope for the best! 😬

Hi All
Note I have Had one Spherical Washer (concave part) explode on tightening the Oiler Bolt it dented the wall!. . That does not sound good. How many people are driving round with the washer about to fail? Each to their own, but unless you are up for track days or are into extremely spirited road driving with hard braking at the last moment, I really cannot see the point in brake reaction bars. Drilling holes in the chassis, bars rubbing the tyres, now the risk of fastenings exploding... Maybe they are popular because they are cheap and can be fitted as a DIY job to achieve an “upgrade”... End of rant! Nah I think your wrong Deejay. I only wished I’d had them fitted to my 4/4 when I first bought the car. I’m not into heavy braking or track days, I found they stiffened up the front end regardless of braking.

About to fit both BRB and Panhard rods to my plus8. I enjoy spirited driving when appropriate, and have some very nice "hill climb" homeward routes. Also noticed slight cracking of paint beneath wing lights, surely attributable to excess chassis flexing, which I'm sure esteemed moggers would agree can be mitigated by addition of BRB's? Grateful for the observations of OP.

Exactly the reaction bars & the rod made a huge difference on my +4.

Grateful for the observations of OP. According to Gomog the brake reaction bars reduce any cracking of the front wings just inboard of the wing lamps due to movement of the wing stay attached to the top of the pillar

Fitted my Sifab brake reaction bars on top of the kingpin bracket with the spherical washers on the top of them as per SiFab & Cain.
As stated on another thread the name brake reaction bars is misleading as the improvements are not just felt when braking. I only drove 50 yards and cold feel the front end was tauter. There is better steering feel especially through bends even at slow speeds, less 'nodding' and less ''crashing' the front suspension. And that's just in normal driving. The benefits are greater the harder you push the car. In fact Ive been driving the car much faster as the car doesn't seem as affected by bumpy roads.
All together a great improvement and one I wish id done when I first got the car. I have to admit I was a doubter and didnt think BRBs would make a difference to a car driven at normal speeds. It was a drive in Craig Jezz's car that convinced me.

It does make you wonder why they are not a standard fitment bearing in mind the cost.

I might be wrong but I believe that BRS is (was) standard factory fitting today, at least previous to the CX cars. There is an ample discussion about their efficiency here: http://www.talkmorgan.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/647300/brake-reaction-bars#Post647300As someone has pointed out, Brake Reaction Stays seems to be a slightly misleading name, not being properly descriptive of the effect felt at the steering wheel. If I were to baptize these again, I would choose Front End Stabilizer Stays or the like. The effect is easily detectable but moderate (in my opinion), but considering the low cost and non-complicated fitting, it is something I highly recommend. If you are going down the modification road....

I noticed an immediate difference in normal driving, but reading all the different comments on here not everyone has noticed a difference and our cars are after all not all the same. The effect on my car was more than moderate however as the whole of the front end has firmed up and I drive the car much faster as a result. I would rename BRB's as 'Crosshead Stays' or 'Suspension Top Braces' and they have got to be the best value modification in my view.
