Very pleased to be wrong and it was a simple fix but your description of the fault was rubbish  . You should keep the wine yourself and drink it to celebrate. True my descriptiuon was rubbish  ... but the noise was as described  If I could have make a better description, from what I could hear on the side of the road, with the stress of the Morgan not starting, and waiting for the tow assistance… I would probably have detected the sparks and tightened the hex bolt myself  And you wouldn't have had the occasion to win a bottle of wine!

But Paul V was closer I/ we guess  as he pointed out a earth failure close by the recitier… and this hex bolt apparently holds the earth connection of the starter and rectifier. But Laurens don't worry we'll share a bottle of wine when we'll meet! For sure! A good Spanish one as soon as we manage to make it to Switzerland! Note: by the way, I'm Swiss. Got my Swiss Passport when I was born, from my father's family side. Originaires de Sainte Croix, Canton de Vaud  Still have some cousins in Basel.

Very happy to hear that it turned out to be a simple fix.
I am going to look for this bolt myself and tighten it as much as possible.
