What puzzles me is that on one of the many occasions I had the engine out of my machine, I forgot to put that earth lead on the bolt and everything ran fine till next time the engine came out which is when I noticed it. makes me wonder if you have something else loose as well? or was I just lucky?

I can't tell you. And I don't have a proper electic diagram of the 3 wheeler to investigate and tell you why this happened.

The truth is that while I tried to start it again in the garage with the bonnet off and low light (not in the hot high sun as before) we could see a lot of electric arcs and sparks and sounding like firecrackers at this bolt, clearly because of a poor loose connection. First thing we did was thightening this box, and immediately the car started as if nothing ever happened…

After this Experience and the funny BET CHART I made, is that - as I already knew - it is mandatory to fix my Centa with you! Funny to see how many put their bet on 6 (the Centa rollers disintegrated). AS I told you in my PM, I'll plan a trip to the UK and spend some days with you to do this (and maybe other?) upgrades. The sooner the better!

Now that is the greTest. Yesteryear of the ages! A proper, readable diagram, not something that must be blownup onto a wall to read.

Morgan or their loom suppliers must have a wiring diagram so why cannot it be made available other than the unreadable version?

In this case a wiring diagram was not needed and wouldn't have helped, given the issue was more mechanical than electrical.

FWIW I found the loom diagrams (the only wiring aid available via the parts book in pdf format) acceptable to read and interpret, if a bit flaky when zoomed in. The pages can also be changed into individual image files with suitable program for quicker reference.

poor grounding is usually the bane of older engines as the lug eventually gets enough corrosion between it and the frame. For the M3W it is the issue of vibration. Probably the bolt was not tight enough to start, but I had to replace an exhaust shield bolt within the first 6 months of owning mine... just vibrated loose! Did you ever notice NOTHING every vibrates tight!
