At the FOS on Saturday I was surprised at the prices quoted on the cars on display, at least the Trads in any case.

£30k for the 4/4 £32k for the Plus 4. Looking at the specs of the cars on display who would go for a 4/4?

Any comments on that?

I agree it did look odd but the +4 has the better hood etc.
I can't remember though the full specs

£32 for a plus 4 gets you nothing .38k for anything with spec, ie leather.standard car is cloth.

The only thing missing on the +4 at the show that I would have had would be the walnut dash and front and rear bumpers, oh and delete the bonnet strap.

I agree with Abacusman ref bonnet strap - never been a fan. But MR11MOG is right - no leather for £32k (mind you for just £32 as stated, I'd put up with cloth !)

When I specced these two up on a spreadsheet, the 4/4 came just under £40k and the +4 just over, with a couple of grand between.

You're paying for the privilege of speccing a car to your exact requirements. Is it worth it? who knows, but I could be tempted. Then again, the first (and only significant) hit of depreciation is in the first year, so give up the thrill of speccing your baby and you'll save maybe £5k, maybe more.

If you want a comparison, look at SC Elise prices. £35k new, and £25k after 3 years with continuous depreciation thereafter.
