I find it gives you chance to put in a non delivery claim , if this happens without you paying a penny.

If I do start to experience problems I'll remember that one thanks for the tip.

Especially useful when there's more month left than money. Order after the 15th of the month and don't have to pay till the next month smile

4 more days till I order a new front tyre for the bike (got an MOT advisory this morning!)

Re the OP and fuses - was the supplier UK based?

Our electric garage door chose this evening to break and the spare parts on eBay were all in the USA. Google found me a UK supplier who promises next working day delivery by DPD - well worth the extra £10 or so.

Hi Paul,

Yes the supplier is in :
Item location:
nottingham, Nottinghamshire, United Kingdom.

I do try to use UK based suppliers as a rule, but some of the China based traders use a UK address and it isn't till you place the order that you find it's coming in as an import.
it's getting harder to buy British these days.

Rob..

Why is there only one monopolies commission??

I'm finding more and more so called UK suppliers are actually just a front for some one selling in the Far East? Where I'm never certain but usually look at the Trading details at the foot of the sellers page.

If I'm suspicious I send a message and check the response time and English. If the response comes during UK working time and is generally 'normal' English then I'll proceed, response during our nighttime or odd language and I'll look elsewhere.

I'm trying to avoid buying from China where possible but ultimately thats difficult hence my caution.

Avoiding Chinese goods is not easy. Even UK traders are selling imported goods. We really need another Buy British campaign.

+1, and also don't forget to support your local independent car parts shop, ours has been open as an approved essential supplier, he even offered to drop stuff off for people who were nervous of going out - top bloke !

Delivery time is often a giveaway ..... if it has a UK 'delivers from' address but is going to take three weeks to deliver rather than three days then it's a Chinese company with a UK front .... have in the past been caught out by seeing the UK address but being in a hurry and assuming stuff would be here in a couple of days .... I check now.

We ordered a wooden shoe rack for the porch earlier in the Covid process it took 5 days so well within the slot, it was despatched from a German address and was made in China which didn't appear anywhere in the advert otherwise I would have avoided it sometimes it's tricky stuff.
